Ramblers’ Love Songs

The gifted man

He carries a ukulele in his hand

Whenever the mood takes him

He takes to a lay-by

And strums a tune that’s taken shape in his mind

He lives a ramblers’ life

And swears the earth whispers the tune to his spirit

Subliminally, between footfalls

To play it back to her to hear and enjoy

Upon a night, even the crickets have been heard to fall silent

As he keeps her company till dawn

When he falls asleep at daybreak

She keeps the shade over his eyes,

To keep him from waking without a proper respite

This routine will continue until his final breath escapes him,

And is buried by those that find him

To be welcomed into her arms.

The Tidal Wave

A tidal wave arches overhead
Marbled with translucent ripples,
In a delayed trajectory,
Like a capture by still photography
Look within and you will see it was long been building
For it is crammed to the rafters with hate
Run you may, but you’ll not escape it’s reach
Resign to your fate instead
Let it sweep in
Break on the preemptory before making inland
To wash over you
And all who brought it to exist
To loose their prejudices
In the soak
To be baptised anew
Ushering in a new beginning,
Free of the endless cycle of hate

The Crown

A whirlpool develops around my heart,
As I watch on;
A kaleidoscope of monarch butterflies dances over her like a crown
In honour or celebration
Of a blessing from the lord of life
The rarest of sights: a natural apparition
Am I witnessing the missing link,
Between man and nature?
Then she sees me with those perfect eyes
And I felt myself being pulled into their centre
Under those green whirlpools
Into the eclipses at their centre
Only, I did not wish to come back up for air
If what I’d be coming up for;
Is a life before I witnessed that remarkable sight,
And what it means for all life.

The Perpetual Stalemate

Dark clouds retreat,

Light clouds advance,

It has forever been thus, I’d imagine;

May be there is a eternal war in heaven,

With neither capable of decisive victory;

Trapped in a perpetual cycle of advance and retreat;

With only hint of the violent blood bath that underlies,

Evident at the edges of the sky,

Where they meet both at sunset and dawn;

A perpetual stalemate;

That has existed,

Since the beginning of time.

#Mosh

Collect all of your happy
In one basket of merry
Drench it in port cherry
And plenty of alchy bevys

Neck it down in one
To make your mind swim
In a wad of sticky honey

Floating to the surface
With all the other intoxicated fishes
For this is a union of bliss,
An orgy for the masses,
Jumping in tandem in the mosh pit of life
To reach the ultimate group high

Then even out on the plateau
And steer each other gently on the decline
Bringing you back to reality
Without a hiccup

Rather than tripping,
While skipping steps,
On the spiral stairway down
‘Cause them be friends,
You’d do good to keep around

The Heavenly Body! #chocolate #mystery

Swimming beneath the surface of clear blue turquoise waters,

The gentle current above casting a muriel of sunlit patterns, up and down the length of you;

As you emerge carrying a conch shell picked up trawling the seabed,

More pebbles of sea water seem to hang onto your sun kissed bikini body,

Choosing to melt away than let go;

Like the attention of passers by,

Everything seems to have second thoughts letting go of you!

Can’t blame ’em:

It’s like watching a rare natural phenomenon;

You’ve turned this borderline saint into a full-fledged sinner with that body,

And I’d take a pass on a eternity of heaven,

To have another go on the merry-go-round with you,

She’s like the finest ice cream you’ve ever tasted,

With every look and smile cast your way, like biting into chocolate bits,

Would you give up chocolate to reserve your place in heaven?

I didn’t think so!
